Overwatch Open Beta Extended!

The open/public beta for Blizzard’s Overwatch has almost come to an end. But Blizzard came up with the news that the beta will not end tomorrow (9th of May). Instead the 10th of May will be the final day you will be able to play Overwatch prior to its release on the 24th of May.

Why should you be excited for the games release?

The game already drew much attention even when it was still in closed beta. For the people living behind a rock and or people who are new in the First Person Shooter market, Overwatch is a team-based tactical shooter with roles, unique characters and special abilities. The game is looking to compete with some of the most successful E-Sports titles like CS:GO, Dota 2 and League of Legends.

Many people find the idea of a tactical First Person Shooter mixed up with some elements of a MOBA very interesting. Therefore the closed and public beta have been a success for yet another one of Blizzard’s games.
That is great for the game as Jeff Kaplan from Blizzard stated that the final game wouldn’t  differ that much from the public beta. That’s much in favour of the community who think the game is in a great state already, except for some minor balancing issues.

Are you already excited for Overwatch?

Blizzard is on a great upwards trend at the moment with some of the newer popular titles like Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone, so it is expected that Overwatch will yet be another great title that brings some fresh air into the FPS Genre.

If you want to check out Overwatch for the last two days of the beta go on battle.net and download the Battle.net Launcher aswell as Overwatch and enjoy playing.
